Robert (Bob) Fireman
MariMed Chairman, Co-Founder, CEO, and President
1948 - 2022
MariMed’s beloved co-founder, Bob Fireman, passed away in December 2022. He served as the company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO, and President, from 2017, and as a member of its Board of Directors since its formation until his passing. Bob will always be remembered in and outside the company for his wit, joyful attitude, and dedication to helping everyone he met.
Together with current MariMed CEO, Jon Levine, Bob’s co-founder, best friend and “brother,” they created one of the leading cannabis companies in the U.S. More importantly, they drove the company to deliver on its mission – to improve the lives of people every day through its products, actions, and values.
Bob was an early pioneer and visionary in the industry. Under his leadership, the MariMed team applied for, and was awarded legal cannabis licenses in multiple states and developed many state-of-the-art, cannabis cultivation, production, and retail facilities.
A practicing attorney for over 30 years, Bob’s legal acumen and entrepreneurial experience in diverse industries served as tremendous assets in navigating MariMed through the complex, emerging cannabis industry. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bob received his law degree from Suffolk University in his hometown of Boston. He was a serial entrepreneur, starting and exiting several businesses in loyalty marketing, hydroponic farming, medical billing, and more.
Bob was proud to tell people that MariMed “does what it says it will do.” The company misses Bob terribly, and under Jon’s leadership that phrase will always remain the guiding principle of the company.
